You started your business…

You started your business…

You started your business so that you could eventually do what you wanted, when you wanted, right?

So why is it that you’ve got less time to enjoy life than your employees?

You start early, power through the day at 110%, go home, send a few emails and before you know it, the day’s over and you’re onto the next one.

This happens month in, month out, year in year out and before you know it you find yourself saying stupid sh$t like, ‘That’s just the way it is’.

Without realising it, many of us are actually creating the exact opposite conditions of those we’re desiring.

To make matters worse, because we’re working so damn hard all the time, we give further evidence to our sub-conscious that owning a business ISN’T a good thing.

Whata ya reckon that does for your your energy and motivation?

I’m not immune from this either, so for the last few weeks I’ve been running in the middle of the day.

Yeah there’s a bunch of physical and mental health benefits (that’s another post), but the single biggest impact Is the re-inforcement of my identity as a business OWNER.

As I give myself permission to break the unwritten rules of the 9~5, I am, to use Covey’s phrase, starting out in the way I wish to go.

Try it.

p.s. How good is CHCH? 15-min from the city to some of the best running trails in the world!
