Gustav Bessinger
Finance Coach - CA, BCom, BCompt (Hons)
Howdy, I’m Gustav and I lead our Finance Coaching here at Business Mastery. I know the challenges and benefits of owning a business first-hand. Before moving to New Zealand 4 years ago I started and grew an accounting and advisory firm to 2 offices and 300+ clients before selling to move to New Zealand.
I’m passionate about adding value, particularly around financial performance. I’m a Chartered Accountant, have worked as a various senior financial roles (C.F.O, Financial Management and Controlling as well as Advisory) and am experienced in all things Finance like budgeting and forecasting, scenario analysis, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and profit and business improvement to name a few.
Outside of work you'll find me hanging out with my wife Tricia and 18-month-old son Luca, stoking the Braai, or running - I’ve competed in ultra-marathons and love getting out on Christchurch’s great trails.

MARCUS SHAW
Head Coach - BCom, BSc, DIPM, Cert. AC, Cert. AM
Kia-ora, I’m Marcus, owner and head coach at Business Mastery. Coaching Business Owners has been my passion and job for the last 5+ years.
Late in 2017, I was managing a $1M marketing budget for a luxury vehicle retailer, but began to get restless. I always had a desire to run my own business, so started a marketing consultancy as a side hustle.
As the work grew, I began to realise that most New Zealand business owners were learning the hard way - trial and error. I also discovered a passion for helping people grow their skillset and in-turn their businesses.
A few months later, a chance discussion with my jiu-jitsu coach connected me with ActionCOACH. The genius of their systems and their vision of “world abundance through business re-education”, lined up perfectly with my own values, and we agreed to partner here in Canterbury.
Since then, I’ve worked with dozens of businesses in a variety of industries, freeing-up time, increasing profits and making business ownership more enjoyable. I hope you’ll be part of the success too.
