What do you see?

I must admit when the waitress first delivered these drinks to our table I was pretty pleased about the situation. 😜

But then my thoughts drifted to the owner...

▪️ What kind of a leader are they?
▪️ How engaged in this business are they?
▪️ What are their beliefs around staff?
▪️ How do they onboard and train their employees?
▪️ How often do they review their numbers?
▪️ Do they survey their customers?
▪️ What do they want this business to be known for?

Suddenly that little line looked less like a pour guide and more like a cynical benchmark.

I turned to my wife and mused “This is why I’ll always have a job.”

Every business is full of little tells. Quiet signals that reveal how the owner thinks, what they value, and what they’re trying to control.

The systems you build, the rules you create, the way your team behaves with customers… it all points back to you.

So here’s a question worth asking:

What parts of your business clearly reflect your current thinking?
