‘The Q-Storm’

‘The Q-Strom’

Do you ever find yourself circulating on the same question over and over, unable to find an answer?

HOW do I find time to work on the things I know are important❓
HOW do I find more quality employees❓
HOW do I generate more profit❓

The problem with these types of questions is that they can excessively narrow our thinking and to the point we shut down the creativity required to find effective solutions.

One method I use for opening up thinking, both personally and with my 1:1 clients is ‘The Q-Storm’.

Not only will it unlock your creativity but it will also leverage the power of your analytical brain, separating symptom from cause.

Here’s how it works:

1. Start by writing down the question you are trying to answer.
2. Quickly add as many connected questions as you can come up with.
3. Broaden your question mix by trying different interrogatives (who, what, where, when, why).
4. Circle 1 or 2 promising questions that might be worth exploring further.
5. Take a break - put your pen down, leave the room and do something else for at least an hour, then return to the questions and start working on solutions.

What challenge or opportunity could you try this method out on?
