How we learn to Navigate the world around us

How we learn to navigate the world around us

Pruning trees with my kids on the weekend got me thinking about how we learn to navigate the world around us. 🪵

From an early age we build a mental map of the behaviours which get the results we’re seeking. By the time we reach adulthood, we’re virtually running on autopilot. 🗺

In certain situations this map we’ve created serves us well, but in others, it gets in our way.

For example, a high-level of trust may help us build rapport in sales situations, but leave us exposed in high stakes negotiations.

In my experience, achieving business success is a whole lot easier, once someone understands their own behaviours and the psychology driving them. 📈
