How long do I need to commit for?
Anytime we make a purchasing decision we want to know what we're up for, what the level of commitment is, and how long we need to be committed for.
Coaching is no different.
This is a question that we get all the time, and there are two layers that I can answer this on, the first one is any time We're making significant shifts in life, we shouldn't underestimate the amount of time, energy, and effort that is required to actually affect a serious change.
Business is no different.
There are going to be some things that we do, which don't take a lot of time and make a significant difference, things like increasing your prices. It's going to be a relatively short amount of time to do and it's going to have a big impact pretty quickly.
On the other hand, there are going to be things like improving our team culture, documenting systems, and improving workflow which will take much much longer, so we need to be able to have the time and the commitment from you to actually be able to affect some of these changes and see the results.
In general, I think you need to allow a 12-month period. Now if in 12 months you're not seeing an increase in your business's profit, You're not seeing a reduction in the amount of time you're spending in the business. You're not seeing an improvement in the quality of your thinking as an owner. Something's going seriously wrong.
Like in any relationship, sometimes things just don't work. People don't gel and we allow for that. Every coaching agreement that we sign has a 30-day clause. You can cancel the agreement at any time, you just need to give 30 days’ notice.
Some of my clients have been on the coaching journey for years, and I expect they will be journeying for years to come.
My job as a coach is to make the process enjoyable, profitable, and productive and in the same breath, if we don't work well together, I'm not going to hold you into something that isn't working for you.
I hope that answers the question.
