How much time do you spend, in silence?

How much time do you spend, in silence?

One of the biggest challenges of being a business owner is the daily mental pinball we play in our heads.

In a matter of seconds we can find ourselves thinking through team culture challenges, new product ideas, gaps in our business plan, marketing strategies, and everything in between.

Because of this internal chaos, we end up spending our days in a mental fog, chasing one idea after another, but generally just getting more of the same.

What we often need most is not more ideas, but space to process the ones we’ve already got.

One of the ways I help my clients do this is through the use of silence.

Yesterday, for example, I allowed a 7-minute period of silence in a coaching session. Yes, you read that right. 7-minutes.

Was it awkward? For me, yes. But, during that time I could almost hear the sound of their brain sorting information, and crystallising their next steps.

I’m curious, how much space and silence to think do you have in your week right now?

And, if you were to make a change what impact might that have on your results?
